It's been a long time since I was here
This build has lasted, on and off, for about 6 months (I've been building a 62 Catalina at the same time), so all in all, a 12.00 kit from eBay is very good value for money!
I was a bit disappointed that it turned out to be 1/24 when the ad stated it was 1/25, but it's no disaster.
This is a Monogram kit and the box looked a bit old. It was a great deal less detailed than the few kits I have built so-far. They say you can't polish a turd, but I think this came out alright.
No modifications to this kit, apart from de-chroming the awful gold plating and ditching the rubbish wheels that came with it. Oh, and I filled in the holes where the bumpers would have been.
Aftermarket parts used were:
Fred Cady decals (old and fragile!)
Detail Master coil, distributor and air cleaner.
Wheels are from the AMT Boyd Coddington 57 Chevy
Rear lights are extras from the chrome sprue that came with the Revell 32 Ford.
Exhaust made from solder, tipped with alu tube.
Paint is BMW metallic black, which has a nice iridescent sheen to it under strong light.
Here are the pics:
I hope you like it. Thanks for looking.
