Tim Boyd On-Line Extra - Street Performance Parts for B,O,P,&AMC Muscle V8's

In the October, 2011 issue of Scale Auto magazine, I cover "Muscle V8's" from Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and AMC (see cover and pages 26-29). I had planned to include a "Scale Auto On-Line Extra" featuring optional Street Performance accessories for these 1/24th and 1/25th scale engines, but ran out of time. The material originally intended for this On-Line extra is now presented here in this message. We'll start with Buick, then progress to Oldsmoblie, Pontiac, and finish with AMC.  Enjoy, and thanks for looking..,,,TIM

Monogram's (later Revell's) 1/24th scale 1970 Buick GSX offers an optional high-rise intake manifold and dual carbs as an option for the 455 Stage 1 V8 in the background.

Although the scale of the Revell-Monogram Buick GSX is listed as 1/24th, the engine is the same actual scale size as comparable 1/25th scale second gen Buick V8's, making these extra parts feasible for any 1/25th Buick 400/430/455 V8 project.

This 430 Buick V8 is found in AMT's 1967/68/69 Buick Riviera Annual Kits, as well as the reissues of the '69 version. Optional street performance parts include Riviera logo valve covers, a fuel injection system with intake manifold and fuel pump, and chrome caps for the valve covers. 

While these street performance parts are circa late 1960's aftermarket, they would yield a very sharp engine for a custom or street machine Buick powered by their 400/430/455 second gen V8.
