(Please visit the site to view this media)(Please visit the site to view this media)Hi ,my name is Bruce. I've been building scale model cars since I was about ten years of age. It began with a model De Dion Bouton. I was fascinated with old cars, and would draw them on graph paper from photos in car magazines with the finest of detail. This wasn't good enough for me because all I could do was look at it in one dimension. I couldn't hold or handle it and look at it from all directions. So I went to a model shop where the older gentleman behind the counter happened to be a vintage car enthusiast who saw my predicament and reached below the counter and showed me a scale model plan of a 1928 Vauxhall 30/98. For about eight shillings and sixpence Ibought it and took it home to my delight, bought some balsa wood, and constructed the model in about two weeks .
That's where it all began. That's more than 50 years ago now.I think my skills have improved now and in the last few years I have constructed a sixth scale Austin 7, a J2 model MG. a TD and TC MG, building them from plans which I have drawn up. Building them from the chassis ,engine gearbox and all mechanicals including wheels all out of balsa wood at about 12th scale
I'm seeking others who just might do the same as me. My next project is a TF MG, which may test my skills a little. Anyone have any PLANS?
